What is the Midwest Bridge Preservation Partnership (MWBPP)?
The Midwest Bridge Preservation Partnership is a regional forum comprised of bridge practitioners from State and Local Agencies, Contractors, Suppliers, Academia, and Federal Government Officials in a sharing of bridge preservation practices throughout the Midwest Region. The gathering provides a forum to discuss bridge preservation strategies, including treatments; management; inspection; improvements in research, design, specifications, and materials; and to promote the benefits of Bridge Preservation through education and application.

MWBPP Annual Meeting – Council Bluffs, Iowa – 18 October 2012
The meeting featured a Round Table discussion at which answers to the following six major questions were discussed:
- Does your agency collect bridge element condition data?
- How are the bridge preservation (BP) needs funded?
- What is the impact of the current funding on your bridge program in general, and on your bridge preservation program in particular? Please explain.
- Does your agency have an approved Systematic Preventive Maintenance process for the use of Federal-aid funds?
- Please provide details of the preservation activities performed during the last few years.
- In your opinion, what are the top three priorities that you would like to see the MWBPP pursue, and why?
