SEBPP Working Groups

From time to time, a Partnership’s Board or Steering Committee may appoint working groups of persons possessing special knowledge or expertise for the development of programs, tasks, and activities, or to perform other actions which promote the objectives of the Partnership.

For their duration, each of the working groups will have a leader(s), a defined work scope, a list of deliverable items, and an expected completion date.

Action Item	“Bridge Inspection Program Manager (BIPM) Working Group”

Work Team	State Agency Program Managers, NCPP Staff
Work Scope	The purpose of working group is for state inspection program managers to collaborate on practices or procedures. Discussions and presentations include best practices, innovative technologies, successful policies, staffing structure, inspection roles, and metric compliance. The committee is also a supportive place to ask questions or provide examples.
Deliverable Products / Expected Completion	Monthly meetings with various topics and round robin discussions or presentations. Minutes kept by secretary for history.

Action Item	“Website Development”
Leader(s)	Jeff Milton, VA DOT
Work Scope	Support the NCPP’s development of the TSP2 website (tsp2.org).
Deliverable Products / Expected Completion	Postings of SEBPP Working Group Deliverables:  Round Table Discussions, PowerPoint presentations, and Videos capturing actual presentations and Questions and Answers (Q&As). Postings of new and ongoing relevant research.

Action Item	Bridge Preservation Performance Measures
Leader(s)	Dan Muller, NCDOT (Lead); Andy Doyle, GADOT (Secretary)
Work Scope	Seek existing and proposed examples of Performance Measures from Southeast states and input from all states’ related activities. Monitor development of Performance Measures in SCOM, SCOBS, MAP-21, BPETG, AKT60, and in other related organizations. Review the development of the National Performance Measures initiative. Coordinate with the other Bridge Partnerships on Performance Measures development, and consider the development of a National Performance Measures Working Group. Regional Working Group has been Sunset. A National Deck Working Group has been established as a result of this Working Group’s initiatives. The SEBPP will have representation in the National Working Group, and Report-outs will be made on the regularly scheduled conference calls and at Annual Meetings.
Deliverable Products / Expected Completion	Survey and summary of SEBPP states’ present practices. (Completion: July 2016) Presentation of a white paper to SEBPP and posting on TSP-2 Website (Completion: April 2017) Presentation at SEBPP Regional Meeting (Completion: April 2017) Consideration of further development at the national level. Action Item	Bridge Deck Preservation

Work Scope	Work and coordinate with other regional working groups.
Deliverable Products / Expected Completion	Development and promotion of the most effective methods for Bridge Deck Repair. Development of a survey of SEBPP states’ material effectiveness. Summary and Presentation of Supplemental Survey Results at NBPPC2014. Regional Working Group has been Sunset. A National Deck Working Group has been established as a result of this Working Group’s initiatives. The SEBPP will have representation in the National Working Group , and Report-outs will be made on the regularly scheduled conference calls and at Annual Meetings.

Work Scope	Collaborate in the development of a Pilot Bridge Preservation Performance Specification that is workable and appropriate for the Owner, Supplier, and Contractor. (All Bridge Partnerships will participate in this national initiative.)
Deliverable Products / Expected Completion	Final Draft of a Pilot Bridge Preservation Performance Specification: June 2014. Final Draft sent to all states for review 10/20/15 Regional Working Group has been Sunset. A National Deck Working Group has been established as a result of this Working Group’s initiatives. The SEBPP will have representation in the National Working Group, and Report-outs will be made on the regularly scheduled conference calls and at Annual Meetings.

Action Item	Bridge Painting

Work Scope	Develop a Painting Cost Analytical Tool. Survey best practices in Maintenance Painting and future needs.
Deliverable Products / Expected Completion	Paint Report, Paint Cost Analysis Tool, Paint Survey: April 2013. Updated Analytical Tool – Presentation at the 2014 National Bridge Preservation Partnership Conference (NBPPC2014). Development of a Paint Working Group Panel for a Panel Discussion at NBPPC2014. Supplemental Paint Survey Results presented at NBPPC2014. Regional Working Group has been Sunset. A National Coatings Working Group has developed as a result of this Working Group’s initiatives. The SEBPP will continue to have representation, and Report-outs will be made on conference calls and at meetings.
