AASHTO’s bookstore has made available a free online publication titled “S10.1-2014 Steel Bridge Erection Guide Specification.”
The 58-page book, offered as a downloadable pdf, has 10 sections plus 8 appendices. It sets and defines basic requirements in transporting, handling and erecting steel bridge components to ensure safe and accurate construction. It also aims to help users attain both quality and value in the finished structure.

This is the latest in a series of publications coming out of a collaboration between AASHTO’s Subcommittee on Bridges and Structures and the National Steel Bridge Alliance. The groups have worked together to develop specifications, codes, standards and policies to unify diverse requirements that now govern steel bridge construction.
